Maintenance
Cover
- For home washing of covers, follow the symbols on the technical sheet that came with the product.
- Periodically adjust the Velcro fasteners to remove folds and creases due to normal use of the product.
- If there are no Velcro fasteners, smooth the cover manually from the inside towards the outside.
- For ordinary cleaning, dust with a soft dry cotton cloth.
- If liquids should accidentally fall on the surface, remove them immediately and dry with paper towels.
- The surface can then be cleaned with a white cotton or microfibre cloth, slightly damp with water and neutral soap, and then dried in a well-ventilated place.
- In case of stains, act immediately to blot the stain with a clean white cloth and, if necessary, remove the dirt with a spoon or knife, using the flat part horizontally and being very careful to not ruin the cover.
- Dab the stain from the outer edges inward to avoid rings.
- All actions must be done with circular movements, without exerting excessive mechanical pressure.
- Our Stores and dealers sell the specific 'Kit for leather maintenance and cleaning' by B&B Italia (code SETPN), which contains products suitable for the protection and cleaning of your leather product.
Batyline®
- For daily maintenance, we suggest dusting the fabric with a soft, non-metallic brush.
- For deep cleaning, use the specific detergent you can request from the B&B Italia Stores and dealers.
- The detergent must be used as described below:
- spray the product;
- leave the product to rest for 2-3 minutes;
- remove with a brush or a soft cloth;
- rinse with water or rub with a damp sponge;
- in case of stubborn dirt, repeat the process;
- if the product comes accidentally in contact with other materials, ensure that it is adequately removed.
- If you do not have the specific detergent, the fabric can be washed with a soft sponge or cloth and soapy water.
- Rinse thoroughly with running water (with a spray of water), and leave the fabric to dry well outdoors.
- Precautions: as a rule of thumb, avoid using solvents or abrasive cleaning procedures.
- The chemical resistance of fabrics to aggression depends on several factors, such as status of the chemical agents (solid, liquid or gaseous), temperature, concentration, duration of contact. Hence, any kind of abrasive cleaning procedure with powders, paste, liquids and pressurised steam generators must be strictly avoided, along with the following chemical products: acetone, benzene. ammonia, nitric acid, sulphuric acid, acetic acid, hydrochloric acid, soda, caustic soda, bleach.
- The periodicity and nature of control and cleaning operations basically depend on the:
- frequency of use;
- horizontal or vertical position of the fabric;
- exposure of the fabric to dust and bad weather.
Thick leather
- We also recommend occasionally wiping surfaces with a cloth that has been soaked in warm water and well wrung out.
- Any stains or liquids should be removed immediately using a moist, absorbent cloth and plain soap, if necessary.
- Any stains or liquids should be removed immediately using a moist, absorbent cloth and plain soap, if necessary.
- Never apply excessive pressure during cleaning.
Aluminium
- We advise using normal commercial products for cleaning delicate surfaces and/or warm water and neutral soap.
- Never use abrasives or products containing solvents, ammonia and/or alcohol.
- Make sure to dry the surfaces completely after washing.
