Maintenance
Carpet (Botanical Silk)
- Once opened a carpet can emit an odour, which comes from the natural composition of latex used on the base. This smell will disappear in a few days.
- Natural fibre carpets lose small amounts of fibre during their first months of use.
- This phenomenon known as 'pilling' is reduced over time and is not to be considered a manufacturing defect but a characteristic of this type of carpet and yarn. It will not affect the carpet’s appearance, strength and quality.
- To maintain the carpet’s uniform appearance over time, it is strongly recommended to periodically turn it to alternate any areas covered by furniture or exposed to light.
- To prevent dust and dry dirt accumulating and to raise fibres that could be crushed during normal use, vacuum the carpet regularly or brush it by hand with soft bristle brushes.
- Using vacuum cleaners with rotating brushes is not recommended as their abrasive action can ruin and fray the fibres.
- Steam cleaning or any other method which involves a significant increase in temperature is not recommended.
- If there are any stains, it is important to act quickly to prevent them from penetrating the yarn fibres.
- If you act quickly, most stains can be completely cleaned and removed.
- While the stains are still fresh, carefully remove the bulk, solid or semi-solid substances with the aid of a spoon or the back of a knife blade.
- After drying the liquid part with absorbent paper, dab the remaining stain with a damp white cloth. Do not rub the stain.
- Dry it by dabbing it again with absorbent paper. Repeat the operation if necessary.
- For heavy stains and for more suitable and deep cleaning, we recommend that you contact a cleaning centre specialised in high-end carpets.
